What You’ll Learn
- ‘Hold Up Play’ is a declarer technique
- Usually in notrump, where you intentionally lose a trick early to the opponents by not playing your winning card
- This severs the defenders’ communication, exhausting one opponent of the suit to prevent them from cashing their winner
